Family farm coffee from the mountainous north of Peru
In the mountainous region of Tabaconas in northern Peru, coffee is cultivated on steep slopes, in misty forests, and boasts extraordinary biodiversity. The microclimate of the trans-Andean corridor at altitudes of 1,100–2,400 meters naturally supports the development of complex and pure arabicas. This lot comes from 154 traceable small farmers who work within 12 local associations and supply coffee from their personally named plots. This structure enhances transparency and connects the coffee to a specific terroir.
Tabaconas borders the Tabaconas–Namballe natural reserve, whose unique ecosystems shape the sustainable practices of farmers. Many work organically, using compost, shade trees, agroforestry, and protecting local water sources. Community projects—fermentation tanks, drying modules, and technical support—help increase processing quality and income stability. The result is coffee with a clear imprint of the high-altitude environment and the work of families who have farmed in Tabaconas for generations.
