China Gyokuro is an exceptional green tea inspired by the traditional Japanese method of cultivation in shade.
It ranks among the highest quality Chinese teas of the Sencha type, but just like true Japanese Gyokuro, this tea is grown for several weeks before harvest under reed mats that limit direct sunlight. This increases the amino acid content and creates a rich, delicately sweet flavor with a pleasant umami tone.
The tea undergoes minimal oxidation and has a pronounced light green color and sweet taste.
